p90 Q1. Explain the title of Taylor’s essay
The title of Taylor’s essay ‘Pretty like a white boy: The adventure of a Blue eyed Ojibway’. It suggest how he is half native american and half caucasian. Through his uniqueness of his identity, it explores how he encounter the challenges he face as suggested from the word ‘adventure.’ From the title we can see how the identify is divided in to half. ‘Pretty like a white boy’ is from the perspective from the native american that describes him. ‘Blue eyed Ojibway’ is from the whites perspective. Through the title we can see how he is perceived and not accepted from both groups of people.
p90 Q3. What kinds of support does Taylor use for his essay? Are his examples effective?
Throughout the essay, Taylor uses a lot of the challenges he face in life as an example to support his points. Through the use of his own personal engagement with the issue, as a first person, it has a powerful effect on the essay to persuade and present it to the readers.
